Meet Mike

Mike began his service to our Nation in 2003 when he joined the Georgia Army National Guard as an M1 Abram tank crewmen. He would go on to serve a combat tour in 2005 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. In 2009, Mike graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of North Georgia with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and a commission in the Georgia Army National Guard. Ultimately, Mike was honorably discharged in 2015 at the rank of Captain. His military awards include the Combat Action Badge, Pathfinder Badge, Basic Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, Meritorious Service Medal, and Army Commendation Medal.

In 2010, Mike joined the Gwinnett County Police Department where he served until 2016. He began his law enforcement career on patrol until he earned a position on the acclaimed Gwinnett County DUI Task Force. As a member of the DUI Task Force, Mike investigated hundreds of DUI cases and ultimately attained certifications as a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) and Field Training Officer (FTO).

In 2019, Mike graduated Cum Laude from Georgia State University with a Juris Doctorate. Afterward, Mike practiced as an Assistant Solicitor General at the Gwinnett County Solicitor’s Office until 2022. As an Assistant Solicitor General, Mike prosecuted various types of misdemeanor cases to involving traffic offenses, DUI, and family violence. Mike even routinely taught DUI law to police recruits at the Gwinnett County Police Academy. A veteran himself, Mike also served as a prosecutor in the Gwinnett County Veterans Treatment Court.

Currently, Mike is focusing on criminal defense with a particular emphasis on DUI defense. Mike is committed to standing up for the rights of those accused and seeing that they confront their cases with dignity and respect.
